Third Thursday Celebration At Lighthouse ArtCenter’s Focus Is “Art Of Association”

This year’s “Art of Association” at the Lighthouse ArtCenter displays more than 250 original works of art by 125 artists. For its 3rd Thursday Celebration on July 16th, you can Meet the Associations Representatives.  Each Art Association will share a short presentation enhanced with PowerPoint illustrations about their group, their member artists, their philanthropic missions and other interesting information.  The Rickie Report believes this is one of the finest chances to network with other artists and art organizations!  We urge artists not to work in a vacuum and this is a professional opportunity!  We share the details here.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter Museum is located at 373 Tequesta Drive in Tequesta. See the Art of Association exhibition through August 13, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5 for nonmembers and is free to members and active military. It is free to all on Saturdays.

On 3rd Thursday for July 16: Meet the Associations Representatives from the Art Associations will share short presentations enhanced with PowerPoint illustrations about their groups, their member artists, their philanthropic missions and other interesting information. The event, on July 16 from 5:30 to 7:30, is free to Lighthouse ArtCenter members and exhibiting artists and $10 for nonmembers and also features passed hors d’oeuvres and a donation wine bar.

 

 

 

 

This year’s Art of Association displays more than 250 original works of art by 125 artists. Participating art groups include Artists in Florida, Art Associates of Martin County, Artists Association of Jupiter, Artists of Palm Beach County, Hobe Sound Fine Arts League, Lake Worth Art League, Lighthouse ArtCenter Artists’ Guild, North County Art Association, Palm Beach County Art Teachers Association, Plein Air Palm Beach, South Florida Basket & Fiber Guild, Wellington Art Society and Women in the Visual Arts.

 

 

 

 
Opening and awards reception was held June 18,
 during ArtCenter’s 3rd Thursday event. Artists from thirteen Palm Beach and Martin counties art associations, along with art lovers, gathered together on Thursday, June 18, to share in the excitement of the Art of Association exhibition awards presentation.

 

 

“This exhibition offers art collectors and art lovers an opportunity to see the best our area has to offer from the talented artists in guilds and associations,” said Katie Deits, Lighthouse ArtCenter Executive Director. “At the 3rd Thursday evening event in July, artists will give insights about their inspirations and techniques, accompanied by a visual presentation. It’s a great opportunity to meet the artists and get in-depth knowledge about their art.”

The exhibition was judged by Cynthia E. Palmieri, the recently retired Executive Director of the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden in West Palm Beach, Fla.  She has an extensive background in exhibitions. Schooled as a sculptor and drawing major at the prestigious Pratt Institute, Palmieri has juried many shows. The Art of Association exhibition was curated by Barbra Broidy.
